Ruby Healey

I’m a multidisciplinary designer and photographer based in Naarm/Melbourne, working out of Idle Time, a studio space that I also run. My practice sits at the intersection of communication design and image making with a focus on documenting, interpreting and making sense of our world. I’m interested in collective practice, co-design and independent publishing.

I acknowledge the Custodians of the land in which I live and work, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people of the Kulin nation. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.

The Building of a Book

Publication Design, 2019

This publication is a reinterpretation of the 1906 out of copyright text, The Building of a Book, edited by Frederick H. Hitchcock. The text is encyclopaedic in nature and details the process of book making and has been paired with scans of contemporary publications from the library.

240pp, produced for the Making Pages studio at RMIT.
